Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jamie Sumner TUNE IT OUT came to be as a sort of spin off of one of the character's in my first middle grade novel, ROLL WITH IT. There's a character, Coralee, who dreams of being a famous singer. It's all she's ever wanted and she'd give anything to get it. In TUNE IT OUT, I thought...what if you had the talent to be famous, but not the desire? What if you weren't wired for that kind of life but everyone important to you told you it's your destiny? How would someone navigate that kind of decision while also learning who they are as a person? That's how Lou in TUNE IT OUT came to be!
