What inspired you to write a book about a character with SPD? Do you personally know anybody with it? What research did you do?

Yes, I do. My son has SPD. And when I taught high school, I had a few student with the diagnosis as well. It's much more common than people think, which is why I wanted to tell Lou's story!

Will you be making a sequel for Tune it Out? I recently read this book and I absolutely fell in love with Lou's character development and the path of the story, and associated with her sensory problems. You've made a sequel to Roll With It and if I'm correct you're making another, and I think Tune it Out deserves one! Same with The Summer of June.
