I'm very fortunate--I've never really had writer's block. I take a blue collar approach to writing. I sit down with the materials I'll need for any one day and I start, with the same mindset as if I planned to build a piece of furniture. Of course, some days are easier (and more effective) than others, but I never feel stymied at the beginning.
