Goodreads asked Lee Schneider:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Lee Schneider Well, I don't think writer's block exists. Sure, I, like anyone, have good writing days and bad days. When I feel things aren't going well, I will take a break from what I'm working on and write a diary in the voice of a character from my current book. Sometimes they will complain about not having anything to write! But that is really the character worrying that they aren't interesting enough to write about. So that tension helps me dream something up.

I plan my writing days aware of what I'll be working on the night before. Sometimes I'll go off track, and that's okay, and sometimes I'll need to work on a different part of the book from what I've planned. When in doubt, I'll write the ending. The ending is the hardest part to write, so why not have multiple tries at it?
