Goodreads asked Inger Margaret Foster:

How do you get inspired to write?

Inger Margaret Foster Reading everything I could get my hands on as a child, I always had my nose in a book. Under the covers, with a flashlight, I would read well into the night, defying parental commands to go to sleep. Loving the classics, I delved into Dickens, Bronte, Austin, Hardy, Steinbeck and Hemingway, pulling books out from my father's vast library. Often sneaking books that were over my head (and totally inappropriate for a young reader), I was seriously questioned once by my seventh grade teacher when she spotted "The Godfather" tucked in my bookbag!

Reading leads to writing. The love of the written word is a passion, one that never disappoints. And reading everything, from War and Peace to a corny romance novel, gave me all the inspiration I ever needed.
