How do you deal with writer’s block?

David Carlson This depends on when in a writing project I sense a block. If it is at the beginning of a project, writer's block seems to be uncertainty on how to begin. What I try to do in that case is start writing and see what grabs me. If writer's block comes in the middle of a writing project, that seems to be an indicator that what I've written just before has lost energy. I go back a scene or two and see if there is a better way to proceed.
