On the cover of the books, who are the two men posing as Royce and Hadrian? Or are they just drawings?
Michael J. Sullivan
Hey Jessica,
I have no idea. The cover artist is a gentleman by the name of Larry Rostant. He's done a lot of fantasy covers over the years and is very well known in the industry. What I "think" happened is he hired actors (and as I mentioned I don't know their names), and Larry brought them into the studio and did a bunch of pictures. Then, afterward, he "paints over them" so they aren't exactly "photos" and he adds in the background and what not.
To be honest, I don't think those two look anything like the Royce and Hadrian that I have in my mind's eye. (And that's one of the reasons I don't like having characters prominently displayed on covers). But there are a lot of people who were attracted to the books BECAUSE of those two, so I guess the covers did their job.
Did you think they represented the characters as you see them?

Hi there, Not so much of a question, just yet another request that you PLEASE continue writing the adventures of Royce and Hadrian. Out of all of the books I've ever read, this is, quite honestly, one of my very favorite book series. I read the Chronicles and the Revelations all within a month and I literally missed the characters when I was finished (so much so that I've started all over again :)?

Hi Michael, Thanks for adding me as a friend. I've never had an author do that; pretty cool. I am enjoying Theft Of Swords. I plan to carry this trilogy in my bookstore. I'm opening a coffee house bookstore in April, here in my hometown. If you are ever in Chapin, SC, which is near Columbia, would you consider showing up for an author signing? Long shot I know, but can't hurt to ask. :)

Michael, have you ever read the Drizzt Do'Urden series by R.A. Salvatore? I am currently cruising through them and I'm finding them to be a fun read. I see a lot of Hadrian and (post Hadrian's influence) Royce as well. I do have you to thank for getting me into the fantasy genre and look forward to your upcoming works. Josh
