This may sound silly, but I love the idea of knowing I accomplished one of my big goals, one of my big-hairy-audacious-goals to become a published writer. My father was an author and while he was alive, we were highly competitive in a very loving way. He had published 20+ books, so I at least had to publish one and keep the family tradition going!
