Short answer - yes! Louisiana is unique because of the mix of cultures and the history of how these cultures continue to influence the state today. Interestingly enough even though we're part of "The Bible Belt", that actually is compatible with the belief in spirits and the supernatural. Ghosts stories, legends of demons and voodoo curses aren't seen as outlandish nonsense to many.
