How do you get inspired to write?

Kali White I'm mostly inspired by the lives and stories of people around me, and I never know what little nugget will catch my attention and stick.
Sometimes it's stories from within my own family, sometimes it's a story I read or hear about in the news, sometimes it's a story someone tells me about a friend of a friend. My WIP about the priest was inspired by the story of a real priest who is the son of a friend of mine. I then read about a separate murder case near my childhood hometown that involved, in part, a mental health aspect, and the two stories merged in my imagination and I started writing the book.
