SHEILA HELSING: DEMON HUNTRESS (my first and only novel so far) was conceived out of a love for the X-Files, hardboiled detective novels and video games like Quake. I wanted to create a rough-around-the-edges heroine detective with supernatural abilities. At that time, I was also studying feminist literature in college, so you'll see some of those influences as well.
