Goodreads asked J.S. Wolfe:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

J.S. Wolfe Write when you wake up. Your mind is at its sharpest. I am a night owl, but morning sessions have proven most effective. I suggest you write when you wake up and leave night-time for notes, inspirations, and meditation on your work in progress. Do not think of the entire book. Outline, write down the intention of the work so you don't deviate from it. Write your ending, so you know what you are working towards. It helped me to designate a place for writing, so my mind is conditioned to work once I sit there. Get an accountability partner. You need fear and deadlines to finish. Do not announce work before completed. Energies affect your work, and the early congratulations tell your mind you are done before you actually are. Do not reward your ego before it's time. Work quietly. Create interesting characters, and make sure every single one of them is written well. No one cares for under-written characters. They drive the story. Have fun!!!
