Goodreads asked Andrew James Pritchard:

How do you get inspired to write?

Andrew James Pritchard Originally when I was in school I hated having to do creative writing in class, because I could never come up with any ideas in the allotted time. My spelling was not the best in any case. But in high school I became interested in the music by The Doors, and more specifically Jim Morrison's poetry, and reading that he had started writing while in high school I decided that I might try writing poetry like him. Soon after I discovered writers like James Joyce and Henry Miller and they inspired me to write flow of consciousness stories, which is more what I have written rather than poetry. Also the more I was writing the more I had to look words up in the dictionary and the more I did that the more my spelling improved.
