Namaste Nepal Holiday,
I strongly agree that Nepal is a very beautiful and wonderful adventure spot for travelers, one especially made famous for trekking, although it is also great for paragliding, kayaking, and seeing ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples and shrines.
I have done a lot of trekking mostly in the Annapurna region, but unfortunately not at all in the Everest area, still, I am positive that the Kalapathar trek is amazing.
It is very sad how covid-19 has affected the world, and travel, but hopefully soon will return to Nepal in large numbers to explore and trek the country.
I myself hope to return when the covid situation improves, as I have friends and people I consider as family in Pokhara.
Namaste!

Hi John, I am available for chatting if you like. I took a look at the Children of the mountain site, it looks quite nice, it's great to know such work is being done in Nepal. I first became involved with Nepal in 2001, sponsoring a child through Save the Children US, and still occasionally keep in touch with him. Are you living now in Nepal?

I would go to Tolkien's Middle Earth, or more specifically The Shire. I think that it would be interesting to experience a bit of the Hobbit's lives, with their simple way of living. Hang-out in the Hobbit taverns drinking ale and eating the tavern fayre, maybe do some fishing along the banks of the Brandywine River. If that ever got dull I could always find some dwarves to go on adventures with, maybe kill a dragon or discover a forgotten treasure.

He awoke one lovely Spring morning to the lovely sound of birds sweetly chirping, and a warm refreshing breeze blowing through his window. Ah, but then he woefully groaned, knowing that soon he would have to fill out all of those impossible tax return forms!

There are in fact quite a few fictional couples which quickly come to mind when I’m asked that question. However, at the very top of the list would have to be Jane Eyre and Edward Rochester. Their relationship has a romantic tension to it with Jane falling for Edward even though she is beneath his class in society. Edward meanwhile falls for Jane despite such a relationship being rather at odds, not to mention Edward being trapped in a prior commitment. Therefore it would seem as if their relationship is doomed from the start on many different levels. Yet in truth their relationship was predestined to be, after all in a sense they are each other’s saviour, so after many difficulties and hardships it all works out fairly happily.
It is my opinion that nothing worthwhile comes easy, and that goes doubly so when it comes to romance and relationships.
Out of my own writing, my favorite fictional couple would have to be Ami Fujishiro and Ian Williams from my novel Sukiyaki. They start off as strangers coming from different cultures who end-up living next-door to one another. Nonetheless, from there they progress to childhood friends who eventually discover that they love each other. Their relationship goes through a lot of ups and downs, and just as they realize their love for each other they are separated… What happens after that you can read for yourself, but it all comes back to the idea that nothing worthwhile comes easy, especially when it comes to romance and relationships

That is a good question Krishna, of course it also depends on how involved you are within that society or community before you start writing about it. Obviously if you have only spent a few days or weeks within a society or community it's rather unlikely you will know enough about it to write in any detail about its culture. Yet after a few months or up to a year you will start to get a better idea about the people around you and what their lives are like, then you can write about that society confidently and with accuracy. The more you know about what you are writing about than the more real and compelling your story will seem to your readers.

I would say write down any idea that comes into your head and try to develop a story out of it, no matter how simple or complex the idea might seem to be to express. Writing out your dreams once you wake can also be a way of getting your creativity to flow. Don't be discouraged if very few of the ideas get anywhere, the main thing is to try.

There are a number of methods that I use to try and overcome writer’s block. Often something as simple as drinking a relaxing cup of tea helps, or I might go and lay in my hammock out in the garden if it’s a nice day. Other times I might go for a long walk either into local town or more preferably up into the mountains, I might also watch an interesting film or spend some time playing chess or bagh chal with my wife’s young cousins. Sometimes I will might even chat or play cards with some of the guests who stay at the guest house my wife and I along with her uncle and aunt run. When none of those methods work I might sit on the rooftop and watch the clouds roll over the Himalayan foothills while drinking a beer or two and taking in the sights and sounds of our neighbourhood. Travel is another way of breaking out of writer’s block, a change of views and routines can help, but sometimes the passing of time is the only cure since the worse thing to do is to try and force the ideas to come.

Read a lot of books by a wide variety of writers from different genres. Write as much as you can every day, you don't have to write 10 pages a day like Stephen King, but a page or two or even just a few lines if fine. write about anything that you find interesting, even if you're not sure anyone else will, if you can't think of anything from your own life that make it up, even if it sounds impossible. Show your writing to your friends and family whenever you can and never give-up if they ever try to discourage you, not everyone will like your writing and that can't be helped, but that doesn't mean that no one will ever like what you write.

I get all my ideas from my life experience and from the people around me. I have had a lot of opportunity to travel around the world and although I am originally from Canada I now live with my wife in Pokhara Nepal and so I mainly write about life in Nepal getting my ideas from my wife and her family.

Originally when I was in school I hated having to do creative writing in class, because I could never come up with any ideas in the allotted time. My spelling was not the best in any case. But in high school I became interested in the music by The Doors, and more specifically Jim Morrison's poetry, and reading that he had started writing while in high school I decided that I might try writing poetry like him. Soon after I discovered writers like James Joyce and Henry Miller and they inspired me to write flow of consciousness stories, which is more what I have written rather than poetry. Also the more I was writing the more I had to look words up in the dictionary and the more I did that the more my spelling improved.
