Goodreads asked Andrew James Pritchard:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Andrew James Pritchard There are a number of methods that I use to try and overcome writer’s block. Often something as simple as drinking a relaxing cup of tea helps, or I might go and lay in my hammock out in the garden if it’s a nice day. Other times I might go for a long walk either into local town or more preferably up into the mountains, I might also watch an interesting film or spend some time playing chess or bagh chal with my wife’s young cousins. Sometimes I will might even chat or play cards with some of the guests who stay at the guest house my wife and I along with her uncle and aunt run. When none of those methods work I might sit on the rooftop and watch the clouds roll over the Himalayan foothills while drinking a beer or two and taking in the sights and sounds of our neighbourhood. Travel is another way of breaking out of writer’s block, a change of views and routines can help, but sometimes the passing of time is the only cure since the worse thing to do is to try and force the ideas to come.
