A silver lining of this pandemic is that I was finally able to read your beautifully written book about your friend, Rob Peace. I found the book to be so moving and it had such an impact on me that I can't stop thinking about it. There are many ?'s and thoughts, but I really just wanted to thank you, Jeff for sharing Rob's story -- every time someone reads it, Rob lives on touching many lives like he did mine!
Jeff Hobbs
Thank you very much, sincerely. It means a lot. I have a book coming out in August called Show Them You're Good about young men in different schools completing their senior years of high school that explores some similar themes, and also tells the stories of people I greatly admire. Best, Jeff

Jeff Hobbs:
Mr. Hobbs, you have written one of the most riveting books that I think I will ever read. My question is about how you were able to speak with Jackie and Peace's community in Newark? Was she open to the idea of collaborating with you and has she been in contact with you since? were there fears of misrepresentation that you had to assuage to have these conversations?

I loved your book. Do you think that Robert Peace's father was wrongly convicted? The way you portrayed him did not sync with a person who would engage in such a violent act, yet it seems improbable that the gun would have been stolen from his apartment and then returned to his apartment. Do you have any opinion on his guilt or innocence?

Jeff, just want to thank you for your dedication to sharing this story and doing so in such a beautiful way. I've had the most emotional response to this book, greater than anything I've ever read. In the time that has passed since the book was published, how have your feelings about Rob's life, tragic events death, and still unsolved murder evolved? Is there anything you would change about how you told his story?
