How do you get inspired to write?

Frederic Martin I like this question because it is embarrassing. I started writing fiction for the first time after reading the last book of Suzanne Collins' "Gregor the Overlander" series. I really, really loved that series, but, like "Hunger Games", I wanted a different ending, so I sat down and wrote *gulp* a fanfic! And I really enjoyed writing it! In fact, "Not Alone" started out as a youth novel (like "Gregor") rather than YA.
