Goodreads asked William J. Bahr:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

William J. Bahr For those who can write: 1. Collect your ideas. 2. Put them in order. 3. Write a draft. 4. Cut the words down to the essentials. 5. Read your work out loud to see that it flows. 6. Run it through Grammarly.

For those who can't write: 1. Get a tape-recorder. 2. Write down your ideas in bullet points. 3. Put your bullet points in order. 4. Record yourself as you talk through your bullet points. 5. Run it through Grammarly.

See my advice elsewhere if you have writer's block. Hope this helps!
