Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Kaia Preus I got the idea for my book, The War Requiem, from my experience singing the piece in my college choir. Even years after the last performance, I couldn't let the music go. I knew that the only way for me to truly move on would be to write about that experience. Very soon after I started, I realized that it was growing into a very long and complex piece.
