Why do you and other female authors always do the double standard of making a heorine celibate or a virgin when the hero gets to have sex for pleasure at his leisure? What goes into that decision? And why is it so popular for her to also have to also witness him with other women?

(view spoiler)[Hi!
So, I can't speak for other authors, but for me, with Chasing the Moon, I didn't set out to make Selene a celibate character. It wasn't about her holding out for the male lead. A lot of Selene's character was actually based off of myself while I was writing. As a single mother, dating isn't exactly at the top of our list, and I think at times, our needs can take a backseat to the welfare of our children. So, although Selene wasn't out meeting other guys and playing the field after having a child, she also wasn't sitting around, pining after Endymion. She wasn't purposely staying celibate in the hopes it would win him back.
Being a single parent isn't easy.
Making time for yourself isn't easy with kids, with or without help. And that's what I was trying to convey with this story. Not everyone sees it the same way, which is totally fine, but I hope this answers your question, and makes a bit more sense.
Thank you!

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed and appreciated the chaos series! I am relieved that you are continuing on and I am excited about the future storylines. I particularly enjoyed the details regarding Matteo and Valentina and became quite invested and emotional with the tale of her demise. I wondered if you would ever consider a prequel? I understand we already know much of the detail,a novella perhaps?
