Werner A. Lind Yes, Luke 10:1 states that at one point he sent out 70 --some manuscripts say 72-- "others" (that is, other disciples; this is a different occasion than the earlier preaching mission of the Twelve recorded in all three of the Synoptic Gospels, though the instructions given to them are similar).
