How do you get inspired to write?

Debra Firestone I've always written stories in my head. Some I have relayed via the spoken word in my classroom or library and very few I have written down. One I had typed out years ago my mother always wished for me to publish. I couldn't find a publisher who was interested in the book. My mother has had limited sight due to being hit by a drunk driver decades ago, but sadly is now loosing what little sight she has left. I wanted to be able to hand her that book in a completed form, so I researched, edited and then self published my story.
