Goodreads asked Elaine Murphy:

How do you get inspired to write?

Elaine Murphy Most of my ideas start with a character or a person. LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO started with the saying, "A good friend will help you move, a best friend will help you bury a body." I thought about a person who helped someone hide a body, thinking they were being a good friend, and then having that person turn the situation around and basically blackmail them into being a lifelong accomplice. What would that person do? How could they get out of that situation? And how could I make it really, really difficult?
