Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Becky Libourel Diamond I found out about James W. Parkinson and his Thousand Dollar Dinner while doing the research for my first book, Mrs. Goodfellow: The Story of America's First Cooking School. Parkinson's mother Eleanor was a contemporary and possible competitor to Mrs. Goodfellow, as they were both pastry cooks/confectioners.

Hi Becky. Did you actually read "The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man" and, if so, what didn't you like about it? I was looking forward to the books release as I'm a big fan of Newman, and the four star-rating was kind of a disappointment. Thanks. - Gary
