How do you get inspired to write?

Roger Gordon Usually, an event will bring about an inspirational spark. For example, serving at a breakfast provided for street people, recognizing that the environmental group to which I belong is making headway in effecting a change in government policies, having an amusing conversation with the check out lady at the supermarket, reading a particularly ingenious passage in a book - all have stimulated me to write pieces for my writing group.
