Lois McMaster Bujold:
Is there any prospect of "The Flowers of Vashnoi" being published in print in the UK, please? (Import costs on the US print editions make those prohibitively expensive.)
Lois McMaster Bujold
I'm afraid not.
The nice SubPress edition of "Flowers", being sold out, is prohibitively expensive on the used market now even without shipping, though you can still get a (signed) copy from Uncle Hugo's at market price (ask) and they do ship worldwide.
It may be collected in some larger print volume someday, but that's not on the horizon yet.

(There is no prospect of any of my work being paper-printed in the UK, my prior outings there having been traumatizingly disastrous for all concerned. Fortunately, ebooks interpret British publishing as damage and route around.)
(Also note the Baen editions of the two Penric & Desdemona print collections do have UK distribution rights.)

There are four writers that I reread and reread because their use of language sparkles for me in a special way. Those four are yourself, Patrick O'Brian, Terry Pratchett, and Vladimir Nabokov. In general would you say that your sentences just flow while you are engaged with the imagination, or do you spend a lot of time reworking your sentences to strike the exact note? LOL probably a question with no answer.

I noticed several parallels between Hallana and Penric -- Bastard's order, physicians, sorcerers, and picked up an unintentional demon (at least by human standards). I wondered if this was coincidence? Or did Hallana have some interesting themes you wanted to dig into deeper? (Hallana is one of my favorite characters, btw.) ^^ -Kalli

Are you done with the Vorkosigan universe? It's been a big part of our whole family's lives. We always anticipated a book in which Ivan's careful avoidance of obvious competence came out (probably because of a woman he was in love with) and I have to say that Vorpatril's Alliance did not disappoint. But I'd love to see one with Mark as the protagonist, and also Miles as he gets older.
