Why did you use the term cripple in your book Roll with It? This is a negative word and one young and old people should not use when referring to people with mobility challenges. Do you think of your son as crippled? Do you encourage him to think of himself as crippled?

Thank you for writing. My son is part of a wheelchair warrior basketball team and they proudly call themselves "the crips" in an effort to reclaim a formerly derogatory word for their own use and empowerment. I hope my son and others will continue to be proud of their bodies and what makes them unique.
