Goodreads asked Beck Grey:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Beck Grey Writer's block usually happens because the author is trying to force the story in a certain direction and the characters don't want to go there. When this happens to me I stop, consider what the situation is and why I don't want to write what I think happens next. Sometimes I'll skip to the scene after the one I'm having trouble with, and then go back to it once I've written more. Sometimes I'll scrap what I thought should come next and take the scene in a totally different, unblocked direction.
