Vjohansen asked Matthew Hughes:

Hi As seen in your bibliography web page you write many books in the Archonate universe. Is there a recommended reading order? I read a comment from you somewhere that you plan to "reuse" some characters in a new book. I just learned a new word: clangorous It might come in useful :)

Matthew Hughes It generally doesn't matter in which order you read them, except when they're a two- or three-book series. So, Fools Errant comes before Fool Me Twice. With the Hapthorn books, it's best to read the short story collection first, then Majestrum, Spiral Labyrinth, and Hespira.

I'm just finishing a Dying Earth novel, The Ghost Wrangler, that uses some of the characters from the Baldemar stories and A God In Chains, and revisits some of the same locations.

Clangorous is good. I might use it instead of cacophony sometime.
