What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Amanda Innes Well, it wasn't in my life, and I think it was already the basis of a book and/or TV show, but... my dad's cousin (if I remember rightly--cousin by marriage) was found murdered in a sugar cane field in Louisiana, and that was never solved. Actually, my grandmother was also shot and killed in her home, and though the police ruled it a suicide, the family never believed it because she was terrified of guns and didn't have any.
