Isn't it exciting? There's a lot of planning that goes into a production. First, the production team of Miramax/The Edelstein Company/Freebird Films (Freida Pinto's company) had to find the streaming company where the production would be shown. Enter Netflix! They have an amazingly diverse team of folks who are bringing innovative content to our homes! Then they hired a showrunner, Sri Rao, whose Netflix series The Fame Game is premiering soon! Then they hired a kickass team of women and South Asians to write the episodes. Those episodes have to be approved by Netflix before production can start. Then, we have to film in India, which means we have to be mindful of COVID. I would start looking for the production in 2023. I can hardly wait!!! :-)

Your writing is so immersive Alka. Such a treasure to read. This senior woman in a small town in Ontario Canada has never travelled to exotic places like India but with your narrative I feel the warmth, smell the scents as you describe them, see the beautiful saris and wish to experience them one day. My only question is what books have inspired you to become the kind of author you are?
