P.J. Fitzsimmons:
Have you found any other authors who are anywhere as witty and clever as yourself? You are better than PG Wodehouse, but don’t let that go to your head.😁

Of course the master is the standard against which we measure ourselves, and it’s on his gigantic shoulders I stand. I definitely won’t let it go to my head, but I confess I’m feeling a little swelling about the temples at the moment.
Anty Boisjoly is shamelessly inspired by Galahad Threepwood and his kind from Blandings Castle, and I’m never not reading Wodehouse (along with Christie, Rendell, Sayers…) but had he been more prolific I’d probably never be without a Jerome K. Jerome in rotation. No matter how often I read Three Men on the Bummel I’ll laugh out loud every time at the scene in the hat shop with the three eponymous men pretending to be German tourists.

P.J. Fitzsimmons:
How much research do you do to keep these books in their historical period? I really enjoy that Anty is definitely a 1920's British person and I even have to look up some of the references as I am an American and not familiar with some sayings. After reading the first 3 books, I am looking forward to the 4th and hope for many more.

Not a question, but rather a thank you for this wonderful book ( need a question mark apparently so I will put it here? So delightful and such a great antidote to the insanity we are living with in the States. Thank goodness for this book! More, please, sir. -- Genie

Tim Bruce is Anty to me and he reads each phrase as if he wrote it himself. No carefully nuanced wisecrack or witticism goes flat when read by Tim. I am so happy that he will continue as the narrator and I cannot wait until October (or sooner, I hope)! Fitzsimmons + Bruce = PURE POETRY Who needs the stress of worrying if the next narrator will understand Anty?
