Don't be afraid to write. The first draft of Beginning of Arrogance was what I would charitably call "a hot mess", before I edited it, then edited it again, then edited it again... and then 15 more times. Then it went to a professional editor, then I edited it at least five more times!
But that story... it exists because I just wrote. It didn't matter that there were inconsistencies, grammar and spelling errors, and plot holes you could sail a ship through - that's what editing is for. Just write, and let go of any fear you might have.
The joy I feel holding my book in my hand is very hard to describe, and makes it all worth it :)
