Anne McCarthy Strauss The answer for me is simple: it's all I ever wanted to do. Despite this, I had to spend a couple of decades doing corporate work, most of which I hated, but it was a steady paycheck. Another great thing about being a writer is that, although you work many hours, you make your own schedule.
