Dear Lisa See, I want to start by letting you know how much I appreciate your work! You are one of the best writers Earth has ever gained, and I am extremely grateful that I have the honor and the chance to live in the same period as you. This gives me the chance to get answers to my questions right from you, isn't that amazing? I want to ask you, how do you find inspiration for your novels?

Hi, Ariana,
I have a half-sister named Ariana!
Thank you so much for your beautiful words about my writing. You've made me very happy today.
I don't have a simple answer to your question, because each book comes with its own inspiration. I usually write about that in the Acknowledgments at the end of each book. That way you can see how a particular book came to be.

Dear Lisa, Thank you for such thoroughly researched novels. My mother, from the Lee Family in L.A. Chinatown, was SOOO excited when "On Gold Mountain" first came out. She gifted annotated copies to her 3 adult children & 3 nieces & nephews. Did you know her courtyard neighbors were the Fong See family and her sister played with Sissy? Since then, I've read 8 more.

I saw an interview with you on YouTube a few months ago. The interview was during the pandemic, maybe 2020-2022. You had mentioned that you were researching an ancestor of yours who were in the American west. Their story seemed interesting. I think it was a prospective book. Is this possible? If you ever write a book about them, I would love to read it. I have enjoyed reading every book of yours so far.

Hi Lisa, I'm moving forward slowly on the PUB journey. I thought I had a strong opportunity w/ a specific publisher. It was not a good fit. My novel Chosen's Beautiful Heart is (Asian women's fiction) which is a bit of a hurdle for a white man. Some agents have suggested adding wife as a co-author. And since she was my original editor in chief and the story is loosely based on her life in HK? Any thoughts?
