How do you get inspired to write?

Emily Devenport I don't think inspiration is what drives me to write. For me it's a compulsion. There have been times in my life when it almost qualified as OCD. That doesn't mean I can write all the time, though. There have been periods when all I did was doodle around on my blog. So if this is really a question about how to get going, I think the best way is to do the things you really enjoy, then write (nonfiction) about them on a blog. Some people like to write in journals, but journals always seem too private to me. If you want to write, do it publicly.
