ok sorry that I ask so many questions... and hopefully this will be the last one but I was wondering what inspired you to become an author? also, your books are in the top five of my favorite books probably even my all-time favorite books

First of all, thanks so much! It makes my day that you like my books so much!
I was inspired to become an author when I was 11 and read The Hero and the Crown for the first time. There wasn't a lot of fantasy out there for kids at the time, and I thought it would be so cool to get paid to write down the stories I was always making up anyway, and for there to be more books out there like Robin McKinley's! (I was right, it's very cool.)
