Hello!!! So I am writing a book, and my dad always says that if you write a book, you first figure out the ending. And I was wondering if you started at the ending of Rose Legacy or one of your other books?
Jessica Day George
Eh. No? But also: sometimes?
It depends on why you want to write the book, at least for me. Everybody is different. Sometimes I have a flash of inspiration that is just, "What if we lived in a magic castle?" and then you figure out the problems and solutions as you go along. Sometimes the inspiration comes with the first and last, "What if this girl hated horses, but somehow ended up becoming the queen of the horse people?" When that happens, you write the book toward that ending, yes, but it can be a very rough idea, "Make everyone love horses!" or it can be very specific, "Defeat the evil king with the power of knitting and get out of the underworld." It just depends on you, and your book! Good luck to you with your writing!

In the Dragon Slippers series, what is Pogue's age compared to Celie's? I personally found it very creepy that he presumably ended up with her when he was much older and she was a child. It felt wrong to me and I could not help but cringe during their scenes (I understand her having a crush but for him to presumably end up reciprocating was gross to me...I know medieval times were different marriage-wise but still.)
