How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kelly L. Ward When I hit a bump in the writing cycle, I take a break from that point in the story. I go back to the beginning of the story--or even the beginning of the series--and begin again. I edit and rewrite and tweak my way back to my block-point. Oftentimes, I am back to writing well by the time I get back to the place in my work where I had earlier left off. This doesn't happen too often, though, as I usually have the basics in my mind before I begin writing.
