What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Brenda Corey Dunne In my case, one of the best things about being a writer is that I can carry my work wherever I go. I move a lot...my husband is an Air Force Officer and that means frequent relocations. There are still challenges...but all I need is a laptop and an active imagination and I can continue to work. I can create worlds based on these new locations, I can form characters based on people I meet and I can express my emotions in written form no matter where I am. SKIN's main character, Ocean, has facets taken from previous moves, and one of my currently unpublished manuscripts (tentatively called The Other Side of Home) is also a move-related story.

I love my portable career.
