The best thing about being a fantasy writer is that you can make your own rules. Regret killing a character? Bring him back! Want to make flying dogs native to a certain country? By all means! The other thing I love about writing fantasy (and writing in general) is how one can get lost in a world (and if you write in 1st person, a character) that is not your own.
