Goodreads asked Eileen Workman:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Eileen Workman I'm just now realizing people have asked me questions in the past that I didn't answer. So...belatedly, here I am!

My advice for aspiring writers? TRUST yourself. Be open to new insights and ideas that arise, and don't bind yourself to existing writing dogma. Have the courage to start; don't allow your fears to dissuade you. Have compassion for yourself as you toil silently in solitude and wonder if anyone will care, or if what you are doing has any merit whatsoever. Be kind to yourself when you realize you've fallen short. Be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day, and writing a good book takes exactly as long as it takes—no more, no less. And above all, be peaceful in your endeavor. Don't try to force your viewpoint onto the larger world. Allow it to present itself in a way that naturally magnetizes attention. It'll reach the people it is supposed to reach. See? In the end, it all comes back around to basic trust!

Good luck to you.
