Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

V.S. Holmes My most recent WIP is a hard-science based thriller. Most of my inspiration came from a microbiology course I took during undergrad and also reading "The Viral Storm," by Nathan Wolfe. Viruses and the myriad organisms that we can't see are terrifying and amazing!

How do you find a good balance for writing since you work as an archaeologist. You are at dig sites for periods of time so does that give you a unique "writing spot" in which to work or does it hinder your process?
