Goodreads asked Katie Cook:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Katie Cook For me, the creativity comes in spurts.I really believe in following my inspiration daily. When I get hit with ideas, I try really hard to follow that energy and drop everything I am doing and make time to write. If the dishes pile up or the laundry goes days without getting done, that's okay with me. I know the creative streak will dry up eventually and I will get back to doing those things. I am not great at just sitting down and turning it on. With the way i work, I don't really experience writer's block all that much. I just wait for the ideas to start flowing again and get back to work when they do. I find I always have more ideas than I know what to do with so I think even if I had a deadline I would be okay. I never know where the inspiration is going to come from, but anything little thing can trigger an idea. It could be a song on the radio, or watching kids playing on a playground. I just try really hard to be open and let it all flow in and I know something will spark me back up before long! I guess I just have faith that even when nothing is happening, it won't be long before I am overflowing again with ideas so I don't stress too much about it.
