How do you get inspired to write?

Mandy Jackson-Beverly My parents encouraged my creativity, and whether I'm painting or writing, it's an innate part of who I am. I used to enjoy writing stories as a little girl, and then in high school I had a wonderful English teacher—she seemed to 'get' me, and understood my need to explore my somewhat wild imagination. She also taught through project based learning.That was a huge turning point for me. Once I saw how everything—history, language, geography, the arts, science,etc.—were all connected, learning finally began to make sense. But more importantly, it was fun!
