I write historical fiction, so I don't need to worry about devising a plot. My subjects have already done that. I do sometimes have difficulty envisioning what my subjects must have gone through. For example, when Rama traveled from England to America, she experienced a severe storm at sea. I spent an entire afternoon watching You Tube videos of ocean storms to get an idea what it must have been like.
