Goodreads asked Chrissy Moon:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Chrissy Moon Keep a journal. Get accustomed to writing your feelings and what you observe, as well as satire and sarcasm. If you have children, get them started early on a diary or a journal - even if it's just signing their name and saying hi. Make it part of their routine.

I started my first diary when I was 6 and started a collection of many diaries, which I always went back to when I needed someone to talk to about anger or something good that's happened to me. By the time I was 9, my teacher at school liked how well I could express my feelings.

In my opinion, emotions are the foundation of great writing.

Also, READ. Read a lot. Read everything. Read newspaper articles. Read Shakespeare. Read Stephen King. Read romance. Read YA. Read fantasy. The more you read, the better you write - always.
