Goodreads asked Kathrin Hutson:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Kathrin Hutson That's a tie. The first is that I get to make up whatever I want, to delve deep into emotions, situations, characters, and worlds in whatever way I see fit. There's a certain reality I experience through my own work that I just can't give up.

The second is that I get to inspire readers in whatever ways are suitable for them. My goal is to illicit reactions in readers - whether it's joy, sadness, heart-pounding excitement, sweaty palms, rage, annoyance, or anticipation. As long as somebody feels SOMETHING when they read my work, I've done my job.
