Matt Eaton Hi Paul,

I have book of Chomsky's more noted work and have watched the documentary Manufacturing Consent, which spells out many of his ideas on mass media and information control.

I think he's contributed to my world view in that I value commentary that looks critically, even harshly, at the underlying attitudes in mainstream society.

I share with Mr Chomsky a sense that I am not part of that mainstream and hence at times feel rather at odds with the world.

In that sense, he has influenced the tone of my writing, if not the subject matter.
