Goodreads asked Olivia Jake:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Olivia Jake If there’s a scene that I’m struggling with, I usually put it aside and write a scene I know I want somewhere else in the book. New ideas often come when my mind is at rest, ie, when I’m walking the dogs or taking a shower or doing something other than writing. So I’ll write the one I know I want, even if it’s out of sequence. Eventually, the story will get there and I’ll drop it in. Not only does this help me move the story along, it also gets me over whatever the initial hurdle was.
